Read today's NYT article on Don Shue, MIA since '69

The New York Time's AT WAR BLog printed an article I penned about Special Forces soldier Donald Monroe Shue who, along with two other American team members was listed as MIA in 1969. His remains returned home April 30 and he was buried in Kannapolis, NC May 1. May he rest in peace. Here's the link.

IN 1970, I was a captain in the Army stationed at Fort Meade, Md. At that time I met a sergeant who was Special Forces and we talked of his experiences. I mentioned about hearing about our activities in Laos and Cambodia which were supposedly off limits. He smiled and stated that he was Special Forces and that he had an ID that stated in seven languages that he was a citizen of France. I believed him and have heard over the years of Special Forces being almost everywhere.
While in DC, I met a woman who worked for the FBI. While we were talking, she asked if I could think of any countries in which our agents weren't involved. I said I could not think of any and she said I was correct.
